Seller Name: TheAntiqueDealersWe have for sale a very well presented mid 19th century French armoire display unit or bookcase. Perfect for practically any room in the house or as a shop display.
Handmade in the 1850's, or thereabouts, from a solid wooden framework with wooden board inserts and beautifully patinated walnut veneers.
The deep shelves and adjustable heights allow for a wealth of uses.
The four deep loose shelves are all adjustable with wooden baton brackets. We have temporarily pinned the brackets in to place with 15mm panel pins for the purpose of safely transporting the whole unit.
The durable matt teal blue furniture paint coats the interior to give a fantastic contrast to the warm tones of the walnut. We have replaced the missing shelves with super strong and thick hardboard and beaded fronts (all painted).
The one remaining original shelf has some damage to the veneer, but remains super strong and is well presented with several coats of fresh paint and clear matt varnish.
There is some loss to the carved relief moulding on the base and a strip of bead trim on one side, but this does not detract from the overall appearance.
In very solid condition throughout.
A stunning stand alone statement storage and display solution.
The pelmet can be easily removed for transportation by simply lifting from the large dowels.
