Description 🔉

German Ersatz bayonet for a Mauser Model 1898, Model 1888, French-Lebel Series and Russian Mosin Nagant Series. It's a Ersatz model 1916 EB.8 variation with unfullered blade, all steel, painted field grey. Blade length 305mm. Overall length 46cm. Good condition but it is missing a fraction of the blade tip. Blade razor sharp and bears what I believe to be a British Ordnance Crown Inspectors mark, perhaps the blade was destined to the British army before its acquisition? On the other hand, it could also be a German Imperial crown but it's very difficult to tell. No unit markings.
