A nice double barrelled shotgun by J.F Smythe.

Smythe worked for Alex Henry and Trulock and Harris before taking over the firm of David Brebner.
He was regarded as one of THE finest Provincial gunmakers in the country.

English 16G S/S.Boxlock, ejector.

Light pitting to inner walls, but otherwise in otherwise good condition.

History tell sus that this renowned gunmakers once demolished a substantial part of Darlington town centre, when his workshop exploded in his absence, a slightly unfortunate mishap!

Deactivated in 2023 with certificate. No longer breaks and one of the hammers no longer works.
