Description 🔉

An interesting example of a early 19th century gunnade. Such artillery pieces were seen as a cross between a cannon and Falkirks carronade's and were used for close quarter engagements by merchant vessels.

Unlike war department counterparts, gunnade's were often unproofed by Birmingham and sold with fake proof markings to increase the price of the artillery piece.

Our example is mounted on a reproduction naval carriage and comes with a rod shot and solid shot cannon ball, worm, rammer and sponge (not guaranteed to fit.) Other items pictured are not included.
