Description 🔉
An extremely rare 6 pounder 18th-century shipwrecked Napoleonic cannon carriage recovered from a beach in Rhosneigr where it was washed up in the 1950s. Made from pure oak with iron furniture, the carriage is of similar dimensions to the six cannon carriage and cannon we also own. We don't know the intricate history of this item other than where it was recovered from, but the styling of the carriage differs from 19th-century examples due to the carriage's construction and the way the rear of the carriage is curved and not stepped.
