Description 🔉
Trumpeters Jacket Circa 1805. This is an original musicians jacket from the Napoleonic period, featuring the proper cut-back collar and shape. The buttons are gilt silver and the facings are black. The 12 sets of cords on the front are white, outlined with thinner black cord. Each sleeve boasts seven chevrons. All front buttons are present, as are the two in the back. Originally, the jacket would have had chains on the shoulders, which have long since been missing.
This is an extremely rare example of a musicians jacket (with only one other known in a private collection). It is a fine example of a cavalry/yeomanry uniform.
