A fascinating, Patented, 'M.P Handy Guide, British made, for those who Knit or Crochet. It has sliders which can be positioned to show the details of the pattern, the number or rows or times, showing both an increase and decrease; down the right hand side, it has a hole gauge for needles and there is a ruler across the bottom. Height: 9.3cm, Width: 11.7cm, Depth: 2.5cm

It was considered such an innovative and interesting piece that there is one in the Collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum ! They were manufactured from 1900 to as late as 1950 - this appears to be one of the earlier models.
