Hand Made George III Mahogany Dresser.

A beautiful and most unusual George III mahogany dresser. Whereas most examples are made from country oak, this piece is made from finely carved mahogany. The lower half displays a total of nine drawers but only the bottom six are usable. The trio of drawers above can be accessed by a hatch on either side presenting somewhat of a surprise to the unknowing spectator. The upper half is carved in a classical Greco Romanesque style with two large pillars visible on either corner. Overall the item comes a part in two sections, the lower half being a chest of drawers, the upper half terminating at the foot of the column. From head to toe, the item measures 225cm high x 175cm wide x 58cm deep. Very good condition considering its age.
