A 200 year old, antique, English Spice Box, c. 1820, made from Tin and painted. There is considerable paint loss to the exterior, but the interior is in good condition. There are six small lidded boxes which can be removed, each bearing the name of a spice, the selection would indicate a box from the Georgian period. There is some damage, the receiver has been broken off - which would have permitted a lock to be used in order to keep the contents secure, such was the high cost of Spice at that time. However, given its' age and the use it would have seen in the kitchen of a Georgian household.
