We are offering this beautiful Chinese Calligraphy Box. These boxes were traditionally used by scholars and artists for storing calligraphy brushes and pens. Traditionally they are wooden, lacquered and frequently inlaid, although occasionally, they may be made from precious materials, befitting the status or indeed experience/knowledge of the owner.

PLEASE NOTE, the pens shown inside the box ARE NOT FOR SALE. They are present as a 'prop' to improve an understanding of the use of the box, but because they are made from Asian Ivory THEY CANNOT BE SOLD, because of the Ban on the sale of Ivory in the United Kingdom.
