Albert Pollitt watercolour Roewen Nr Conway [1856-1926]. Signed. Albert Pollitt, 2856-1926, was born in the North West of England and lived in Manchester, Warrington and, for the last 15 years of his life, in North Wales. He painted landscapes and marines in the Cox tradition, mainly scenes in the North West and Wales, and his work is desirable and well collected.
He exhibited from 1885 at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and at the Manchester City Art Gallery until his death where examples of his work may be seen.
He is listed in The Dictionary of Victorian Painters by Christopher Wood, The Dictionary of British Artists (Collector's Club), Painters in the Northern Counties of England and Wales by Dennis Child and The Dictionary of British Watercolour Artists by Mallalieu.
