Description 🔉

A Russian Icon of Christ Pantocrator which, given the partial discolouration, appears top be silver*, with some gilding to the Nimbus and with a printed paper beneath the Oklad. It is the classic representation and features Christ, his right hand raised in blessing and his left hand holding the open Book the of the Gospels. It is typical of those produced for the Pilgrim/Tourist Trade and is probably dates from the early 20th century.

*The Icon has not been tested for Silver Content and has only been partially cleaned. It certainly cleans like silver and has the black discolouration common with a silver item.
